Who is Robert Rinder?

The judge - real name Robert Rinder - was born and raised in London.

Judge Rinder was called to the bar and officially became a lawyer in 2001.

His initial specialism laid in the world of financial crimes - with international fraud and money laundering coming in his area of expertise.

However, he has since focused on criminal law, and became the TV barrister we know and love in 2014.

Robert Rinder isn't actually a judge - he is a barrister.

After reaching his milestone 1,000th case in April 2018, Robert revealed he couldn't go back to being a professional barrister.

On August 13, 2018, Judge Rinder starred on Who Do You Think You Are, which explores his Jewish heritage back to the Holocaust.

Judge Rinder appears to be single after separating from his husband in 2013.

He has confessed to The Sun he has “no capacity to be normal” after a ­disastrous experience with Fleabag heart-throb Andrew Scott.

Rinder married a fellow barrister, Seth Cummings, on the Spanish island of Ibiza in 2013.

The ceremony was overseen by Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch - who is an ordained minister.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror about the wedding Rinder said: "We got married, it's no secret, but no one was supposed to know.

"Somebody put the pictures on Facebook. Seth used to be a political adviser to George Osborne, now he's a lawyer in a serious firm.

"And now when you Google me it brings up his name and Benedict Cumberbatch."

In January 2018 The Sun exclusively revealed that the couple had split.

What TV shows has Robert Rinder appeared on?

Judge Rinder appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2016. He was partnered with Oksana Platero and was was often slated for his performances - but never for his enthusiasm and determination to improve.

He placed fifth overall in the competition, being dropped in the quarter-finals.

He also presented the Channel 4 series The Rob Rinder verdict in which the legal whiz gave his take on current events and offered his verdict on topical issues.

In 2016, he presented the series, Judge Rinder's Crime Stories, which reconstructed real crimes events.

Since 2014, he has been the infamous judge in the reality courtroom series Judge Rinder.
