Katie Price says Dwight Yorke ‘disowned’ Harvey over dinner after disabled son begged to see him

KATIE Price has claimed her footballer ex Dwight Yorke told her he was 'disowning' her and Harvey after their son asked to see him.

She said the pair had a meeting an an Alderley Edge restaurant in 2012 where he said he didn't want anything to do with them.

The claims are part of an explosive new book, , written by the 43-year-old former glamour model.

She said he didn't want anything to with either of them, writing: "I wanted Harvey to have his dad in his life, but he just wasn’t interested in any of it.

"‘This isn’t about me. This is your son and your flesh and blood,’ I said.

"But he just didn’t give a s**t. There’s only so much you can try before you realise you’re flogging a dead horse.

"I got up and left and that’s the last time I saw him. I haven’t heard from him since."

Katie said Harvey spoke to the former Manchester United star on his tenth birthday after her mum organised a call via his manager.

She wrote that Dwight was shocked when the lad asked: "When am I seeing you?"

Dwight, who initially said he may not be Harvey's dad, spoke out about his relationship with Harvey in his own 2009 autobiography.

Writing in Born to Score he said: "From the moment I set eyes on the little fella, I have loved my son like I could never ever have imagined possible.

"I am not going to hear any more that I did not care for Harvey, or have any understanding of his needs or that I was not interested in his welfare."

He added, referring to Katie's first husband, singer Peter Andre: "Over the years I have heard Katie saying how Andre is Harvey's dad and what a terrible, uncaring father I have been, all of which sticks in my throat.

"Maybe if she had not made life so difficult for me, might have been able to take a far more proactive role."

Speaking on Sky News, also in 2009, Dwight said a "combination of things" meant he was not able to see Harvey.

He said: "One, my time schedule and being based up in Manchester and a footballer on an everyday basis.

'I'm not sitting here and saying I'm a total perfect father. I've made mistakes along the way and I would love to turn the clock back."

Yorke dated Katie briefly in 2001 and they reportedly broke up shortly after Katie fell pregnant.

Katie has repeatedly slammed her ex for not seeing their disabled son saying: "Personally, I think he is scared of seeing Harvey...Dwight should try."
