Will Young reveals he has taken dancing lessons for 11 years ahead of Strictly Come Dancing appearance
The singer previously played down his dancing ability and has even compared himself to 'Billy Elliot'
STRICTLY’S Will Young has been taking dance lessons for 11 years, The Sun can reveal.
The singer has had ballet classes three times a week and once compared himself to Billy Elliot.
In an interview in our Bizarre column in 2006, he said: “Ballet keeps me toned and I really enjoy it.
"I’m a real Billy Elliot.”
And in 2009 he admitted: “I go to lessons at Dance Attic in Fulham three times a week.”
Will, 37, shot to fame when he won Pop Idol in 2002 and trained at West London’s Arts Educational School before that.
Last week he played down his dance experience but pals admit he has an unfair advantage over rivals in the BBC1 competition, including model Daisy Lowe and Ed Balls.
One said: “Will is known as being a really good dancer. There’s no doubt he will score top marks from the start.”
Singer Anastacia, 47, was today unveiled as the tenth celeb to join this year’s show.
