Who is Bake Off contestant Val Stones?

VAL Stones was a big hit when she was on Bake Off.

With her adorable accent, and ability to keep dropping things, viewers couldn't get enough of her.

Who is Val Stones?

Val is originally from Conisbrough near Doncaster but now lives with husband Ian near Yeovil.

She says she has been cooking since the age of six and can make the classics "with her eyes closed".

She enjoys making traditional foods but also likes to scour the internet in search of new recipes to try.

Val still works two days a week in school as a substitute teacher, she says she tries to incorporate baking into her teaching in order to inspire the next generation of bakers.

When was Val Stones a contestant on The Great British Bake Off?

You may remember her from the 2016 series of The Great British Bake Off.

She was a contestant on the show back when Mel and Sue still presented on the BBC, when  there were no ad-breaks and Mary Berry was the judge at Paul Hollywood’s side.

Known as the Cake Whisperer, we loved Val for her constant ability to drop things, her love of her Somerset home and her need to sing and talk to every one of her many bakes in the tent.

How well did Val Stones do on Bake Off?

Val was the fifth contestant to leave the tent in the seventh series of the hit TV show.

She left following a pretty disastrous pastry week, which saw her come seventh in the technical challenge.

But the appearance on the show propelled her to Instagram fame, giving her some 50,000 followers on the social media platform.
