What three things are BANNED from appearing in all Disney films?
THE director of Pete's Dragon has revealed what things the studio has prohibited in their movies
IT goes without saying that making a Disney movie comes with a whole lot of pressure.
Not only are the public constantly awaiting the release of yet another cinematic masterpiece but if you're the person responsible for making the movie, the studio bosses must be hard to impress too.
Luckily, they've set out a few ground rules to help the directors out - and Pete's Dragon director David Lowery has since revealed exactly what is banned.
"When you sign a contract with Disney, the things it says your film cannot have are beheadings, impalement or smoking,"; he dished.
"Those are literally the three things you are not allowed to put into a Disney film."
The ban on smoking in G, PG and PG-13 Disney movies was only brought in last year - and that includes in Pixar, Lucas and Marvel films.
However if the negative consequences of the habit are highlighted, they'll let it go.
But this rules out a live action re-make of Pinocchio for Lowery though, as he adds, "Pinocchio was the first movie I ever saw. That one is too close to home for me.
"The scene in that movie that had the biggest impact to me was Pinocchio smoking a cigar and turning red."
While our favourite puppet may never see the light of day in a Disney live action movie, there are plenty others coming up, including Mary Poppins and Cruella De Vil.
The only problem? Our favourite puppy-skinning villain won't be spotted with her trademark cigarette anymore.
