KEIRA Knightley has earned her chops as an actress with incredible performances in films including Pirates of the Caribbean, Bent it like Beckham and Pride and Prejudice.
Now, she's set to add another blockbuster to her impressive CV as it's been confirmed that she's got a leading role in the upcoming Disney film The Nutcracker and the Four Realms.
The actress is set to star as the Sugar Plum fairy, with stars Morgan Freeman, Mackenzie Foy and, the first ever African American female Principal Dancer with the American Ballet Theatre, Misty Copeland joining her in the line-up.
The movie will be based on ETA Hoffmann's 1916 story, The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, and Foy will play the lead as Clara, who receives a Nutcracker doll for Christmas.
When the clock strikes midnight, her toys come to life and battle to overthrow the pesky Mouse King.
Despite the happy news, the star was recently criticised by director John Carney for her performance on the set of Begin Again, which they worked on together.
He didn't told back in his comments, saying, "I don’t want to rubbish Keira, but you know it’s hard being a film actor and it requires a certain level of honesty and self-analysis that I don’t think she’s ready for yet and I certainly don’t think she was ready for on that film.
He also claimed that it was "very hard to get any real work done" due to her entourage joining her on set.
‘I learned that I’ll never make a film with supermodels again,’ he added.
Luckily, it hasn't been detrimental to our Keira!
The release date for The Nutcracker and the Four Realms is yet to be confirmed
