AGNES O'Casey will soon be a name on everyone's lips.

The rising star is kicking off her career in new BBC One drama Ridley Road.

Who is Agnes O'Casey?

Ridley Road marks Aggi O’Casey’s television debut.

Before this she was known for appearing in stage productions for the Lir Academy – Ireland’s National Academy of Dramatic Art.

She also played Lily in Druid Theatre’s production of Thomas Kilroy’s adaptation of Chekhov’s The Seagull in the summer of 2021.

Agnes - who also goes by the nickname Aggi - is well versed in the theatre as her great-grandfather was Irish dramatist Seán O’Casey.

Speaking about staring in Ridley Road, she told the BBC: “Sarah Solemani [Ridley Road writer) has blown me away with the detail, sensitivity, and complexity with which she has written Vivien.

“I can’t wait to bring this vital and little-known story to life.”

Is Agnes O'Casey married?

It is not known if Agnes is married or not.

As she is only just emerging into the spotlight, her relationship status is unknown.

It is also not reported whether she has children or not.

When is Ridley Road on TV?

Ridley Road has been adapted from Jo Bloom’s 2014 novel of the same name by award-winning actress and screenwriter Sarah Solemani.

The series will premiere on Sunday October 3, 20201 on BBC One at 9pm, and will be released as a box set on the .

Agnes leads the cast as Vivien Epstein, a young Jewish woman.

After falling in love with a member of the 62 Group, Vivien rejects her comfortable middle-class life in Manchester and joins the fight against fascism in London, risking everything for her beliefs and for the man she loves.

Inspired by the struggle of the 62 Group, a coalition of Jewish men who stood up against rising neo-Nazism in post-war Britain, Vivien is working with them when she realises that Jack, her missing boyfriend has been badly injured.

Vivien infiltrates the NSM, a neo-Nazi movement which is becoming increasingly prominent in London.

As Vivien descends further into the fascist organisation her courage and loyalties are challenged.
