Snatch star Stephen Graham opens up about his severe dyslexia, revealing his wife reads his scripts before he does
Stephen joked that This Is England co-star Hannah had accidentally turned down some amazing jobs
HE first hit screens as hardman Tommy in GUY RITCHIE’s Snatch.
And he’s continued to play dark, twisted characters ever since in Boardwalk Empire, Pirates of The Caribbean and This Is England.
But STEPHEN GRAHAM has bravely opened up about his own demons as he confessed he struggles to read scripts due to his severe dyslexia.
He said: “I’m dyslexic and it takes me a long time to read scripts.
“That’s why my buffer system is my missus.
“She reads them first and if they are that good then I get to have a look at them.”
But he admitted his wife of eight years and former This Is England co-star HANNAH WALTERS has made the odd mistake and accidentally rejected some decent jobs.
He joked: “She’s turned down a couple of fantastic opportunities but that’s completely another story.”
Stephen is now appearing in a new Channel 4 thriller The Watchman, which airs next Wednesday at 9pm.
It is a one-off drama following a CCTV operator who intervenes in a dangerous he’s supposed to be just watching when the police fail to tackle drug dealers.
He said: “I was really intrigued.
“I was gripped by the script and the concept of being alone in this room and being trapped within this place.”
