It was announced on September 21, 2021, that Garson had passed away at the age of 57.

Born February 20, 1964, Garson was most famously known for his work on Hawaii Five-0, Sex and the City, and White Collar.
According to his , he appeared in over 75 films and more than 300 TV episodes.
He played Stanford Blatch in Sex and the City and reprised the role in the show's two films and spin-off, And Just Like That.
From 2009 until 2014, Garson played Mozzie on White Collar, which is now available for streaming on Netflix.
Garson also played Gerard Hirsch in the 2015 reboot of Hawaii Five-0.

Outside of acting, Garson was also a known adoption advocate and started the You Gotta Believe foundation with the goal "to find youth permanent families so that they have the support system they need to live safely and to their highest potential."
