Alongside a mirror selfie of her bump, she wrote: "I tried to set up one of those beautiful pregnancy reveal pictures with the meadow and the golden sunset and the hay and the puppy’s and the perfectly put together BoHo outfit & flowing natural hair with baby chicks nesting in it but then I realised that IM WAY TOO tired, achey and lazy right now.

"So here’s me pulling an awkward face in the mirror whilst wearing makeup for the first time in 6 months instead. We are very happy obviously. But mostly super tired."

Fans were delighted, flooding her comments with congratulatory messages.

Kaya already has a son with her husband of six years Benjamin Walker.

She occasionally shares sweet family moments on Instagram but maintains her son's privacy by covering his face with emojis.

Becoming a mother changed the way Kaya approaches her career. She is now more selective of roles and filming locations.

She told the Evening Standard: "When I first started out I was just looking for employment, I just wanted to work.

"But now I think being a mum I have to be pickier if I’m going to be away for six months on the other side of the world.”

After shooting to fame as Effy Stonem in teen drama Skins in 2007, she went on to crack Hollywood, landing roles in a series of blockbusters.

These include the Pirates if the Caribbean and Maze Runner franchises and opposite Zac Effron in 2019 Ted Bundy biopic Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.
