Tom Hiddleston’s Bond hopes hurt after actor confesses he wants to star in romantic comedy
Latest blow comes after criticism for whirlwind romance with Taylor Swift
TOM Hiddleston has further hurt his chances of being 007 after admitting he wants to star in a rom com.
The actor, 35, has been criticised for going soft since his whirlwind romance with popstar Taylor Swift.
Now the Night Manager star says he wants a part in a romantic comedy, a genre Taylor adores.
Speaking to Hollywood Reporter in Los Angeles, Tom said: “I do think a rom com is possibly one of the hardest things to do because the best ones have a truthfulness about them. It is difficult to do.
“If you make a good one then there is no better time than that to be in the cinema. I would love to try one day.”
Tom also made surprisingly soppy choices when asked about his favourite romantic comedies. He said: “I have two — Four Weddings and a Funeral and Pretty Woman they are both fine movies.”
Four Weddings is written by director Richard Curtis, who also penned Taylor’s favourite film Love Actually.
The Sun revealed his secret romance with Taylor, 26, in June. Since then, Tom has even been seen in a “I Heart TS” vest.
But he has hit back at critics who claim it is a “showmance” for publicity, saying: “There are stories out there which are false. The hardest thing is to try to not let those falsehoods affect your life.”
