Louise Redknapp confirmed as new Strictly Come Dancing contestant
The Sun previously revealed that bosses were looking to get the star on board
Louise Redknapp has been confirmed as the latest contestant in this year's Strictly Come Dancing.
The Sun Online previously revealed that the presenter had been in talks to participate on the show for years - and now they finally have her.
Louise confirmed her place on BBC Radio 2 during an interview with Steve Wright.
She said: “I've sung in front of crowds of thousands before but the idea of stepping out onto that famous dance floor with a world class professional dancer gives me butterflies just thinking about it!
"I’m a big fan of the show and am definitely going to go out there and give it 100% as I want to make my boys proud."
The TV presenter, who originally found fame in 90s girl band Eternal, will now go up against Ed Balls, Will Young, Laura Whitmore, Ore Oduba and Melvin Odoom in the 14th series of the hit show.

Our source previously told us: "Louise has been top of the Strictly hit list for years. She’s a huge star and they feel she will bring class and glamour.
“She grew up singing and dancing, which will stand her in good stead when the rehearsals and training kick in after the summer.”
Louise is now looking to follow in the footsteps of fellow WAG Abbey Clancy - who walked away the winner of the show back in 2013.
However, the news might not be completely welcomed by footballer hubby Jamie Redknapp - who has previously joked about not wanting her on the show for fear they will fall victim of 'The Strictly Curse'.
Strictly Come Dancing is due to waltz back onto our screens in September.
