Scotty T and Paddy McGuinness lead celebrities cheering Gary Lineker as he strips to boxers to host Match Of The Day

From gentle ribbing to declaring Gaz a 'hero' all were suitably impressed

CELEBS including Scotty T and Paddy McGuinness took to the internet to cheer on Gary Lineker after he stripped to his boxers to host Match Of The Day this evening.

The retired footballer-turned-pundit had vowed to appear on the BBC football highlights show in his underwear if Leicester City won last season’s

Premier League title and true to his word, the 55-year-old did just that.

Leading the nods of approval on social media, Geordie Shore star Scotty T tweeted alongside a shot of the silver fox in his kecks: “Hope @GaryLinekar gets a semi on.”

Cheeky Take Me Out host Paddy McGuinness declared: “Let the boxer see the shorts!”

He followed it up with a picture showing Gary’s open-mouth co-presenter Ian Wright.

Paddy captioned it: “I think @IanWright0 is slightly distracted.”

Former MP Alastair Campbell also couldn’t resist a dig.

He wrote: “Playing it totally straight – brilliant @GaryLinekar top stuff. But those 200 sit ups a day should have been 500. #absgate #MOTD.”

Meanwhile, Rick Edwards hailed Gaz his “hero”.

He wrote: “YES @GaryLineker YES. HERO #MOTD.”
