The six bed property in the French village of Bargemon - which was dubbed Beckingham Palace-sur-Mer - is now on sale for a guide price of 2,75000 Euros.

And sources told how despite spending £5million on renovations, the pair decided to offload it after visiting on just a handful of occasions.

One said: “The Beckhams might have poured millions into the mansion, but they didn’t seem too keen to enjoy the results of their cash.

“The locals won’t miss them, as they were hardly ever here.

“When they were, David signed the odd autograph and he once had a kick-about with the villagers, but that was their only contact with them.

“You wouldn’t have seen Victoria queuing for a croissant in the village boulangerie.”

The former Spice Girl splurged £1.5million on the 19th Century home, near the Cote d-Azur, in 2003 after falling in love with its rustic charm.

And the sales brochure for the property shows off the assets that encouraged her to snap it up.

The ground floor boasts a state of the art kitchen and breakfast room, plush purple sitting room and a formal dining room with an open fireplace.

There's also an on-site guest house in a converted farmhouse, and a chapel offering further potential

The first floor, which is accessed by two staircases, has a guest suite with private terrace, three lavish double bedrooms and a family bathroom.

And the second floor has a master bedroom - complete with chandelier - as well as a suite with a terrace that leads to the lush gardens.

A “superb” infinity pool is described by the brochure as offering “magnificent views of the woodland and meadow, pool-house and terrace.”

And a separate farm house has been converted into a guest house for visitors, while the on-site chapel is said to offer “additional potential.”

The couple didn't spare any expense, even the bathrooms have been immaculately decorated

The latest shift in the Beckhams' property portfolio comes after they splashed out £31 milllion on a luxury townhouse in Holland Park, London.

The couple have moved into rented accommodation while the property is being renovated.

And we told last month how star-struck builders working on the site had been banned for asking England legend David for selfies during his visits.
