RYLAN Clark-Neal made his hotly anticipated return to BBC Radio 2 after taking more than two months off.

The popular presenter, 32, announced he was backing away from both TV and radio appearances earlier this summer.

The Sun later revealed his decision to take a break came following his split from husband of six-years, Dan Neal.

Rylan hit the airwaves on Radio 2 for his 3pm show and told his listeners, "it does feel good to be back and I am feeling better."

After 10 weeks away from work, Rylan opened the show with a simple message.

"It really is me. Welcome back to Rylan on Saturday," he announced as he played The Shapeshifters' 2004 track, Lola's Theme.

He later took the time to thank the presenters who filled in for him during his time off and again expressed how happy he was to be back.

"Well, a lovely afternoon to you lovely lot. You are listening to Rylan on Saturday and it is good to be back in the seat and a massive thank you to Vernon (Kay), to Gary (Davies), to Oti (Mabuse) and to Cat Deely for keeping this seat and my little baby lovely and warm," Rylan said.

"When we're allowed I'll give you all a big cuddle. Thank you so so much. Secondly a massive thank you to you, the lovely listeners and thank you for all your lovely messages.

"I've got some brilliant music for you. You might have missed me but I know you missed her too - Mummy Linda is back on Radio 2. She's the most important person."

Rylan also read out the warm messages he received from his fans during the show, with one listener saying, "we're so happy to have you back. We hope you're feeling better," to which he replied, "I am thank you."

Another wrote: "Lovely to hear your voice again and hope the show goes well. Welcome home"

Rylan replied: "Lots of love. It does feel good to be back. It is so lovely to be back."

Later in the show, Rylan chatted to pop group JLS and responded, "I am very well" when they asked how he was doing.

Rylan arrived to the BBC studios in London looking refreshed in a black turtleneck and skinny jeans.

He finished off the sleek look with black suede shoes, a Gucci belt and black leather Supreme bag.

The presenter happily chatted to waiting fans outside of the studio and flashed his trademark smile as he headed inside.

Rylan also made a comeback to the small screen this week during an episode of Celebrity MasterChef on BBC1.

Rylan was invited to appear on the cooking show alongside fellow former champs Lisa Falkner and Greg Rutherford. Together, they gave their opinions on the 2021 contestants' grub.

"I'm expecting big things from the celebs today," Rylan, who was a MasterChef finalist in 2015, told the cameras.

"I'll be fair but I think in my old age, I'm getting a bit firmer. Which is quite rare for old age."

Rylan revealed this summer that he and ex-Big Brother contestant Dan, 41, had split after six years of marriage.

The TV and Radio 2 star blamed his own mistakes for the break-up.

Rylan said: “I have made a number of mistakes which I deeply regret and have inevitably led to the breakdown of our marriage.

"I have taken time away from work as I am not in a good place at the moment and am seeking help.

“I am trying to take each day at a time and would like to say thank you to everyone for their support and for respecting our privacy at this time.”

Last month, however, The Sun revealed that Rylan and Dan appear to be rekindling their romance.

Meanwhile, Rylan's withdrawal from hosting gigs also came after he had revealed that he was “taking a break” off social media due to horrific trolling.

Speaking on the  in March, he said: "I love social media, social media is not only lucrative when it comes down to money, it's brilliant for communication, there are so many plus sides to it.

"But I found in the last three weeks, me looking at my phone, looking at my feed, looking at what is trending more so and I'm just getting to that point where I'm thinking this is a f***ing sewer."
