Jaden Smith ALIVE and well after falling victim to the latest sick online hoax claiming he had committed suicide
String of famous celebrities have been falsely claimed as dead by sick pranksters online
WILL Smith's son Jaden has become the latest celebrity to fall victim to a sick online prank alleging that the model and actor had committed suicide.
The 18-year-old star, who hit the limelight with starring roles alongside his megastar dad in After Earth and The Pursuit of Happyness, was feared dead by fans after a video of him saying goodbye went viral on social media.
In the thumbnail on Facebook, Jaden can be seen looking red eyes and sad looking with a caption underneath that reads: "This is for you Dad".
Pranksters who have faked the story then used the US news site CNN in their title in a bid to give the story a level of credibility.
The headline claims that the star had hung himself after making a goodbye video on his phone.
Facebook users fell for the story before even clicking the link and shared it to announce their condolences.
This is not the first time Jaden has fallen victim to the stunt, with another fake story making the rounds a few years back that the star had been killed in a family skiing accident.
In fact, the star is alive and well and is due to front his own Netflix series, The Get-Down, which is to be released by the end of the year.
The Sun Online has contacted Jaden's representatives for comment.
Mr Bean actor Rowan Atkinson also fell victim to a similar hoax who claim he had succumbed to addiction.
However, the hoaxers slipped up by getting his dates of birth wrong and made him out to only be in his twenties.
Hollywood comedian Jack Black also had pranksters claim he had died - and was forced to address the situation himself on social media to confirm he was in fact alive.
