LOVE Island's Rachel Fenton has hit out at online bodyshamers after trolls attacked her figure on her latest Instagram post and branded her 'fat'.

Rachel, who is still going strong with Rykard Jenkins following the success of the ITV2 show, posted a snap of the pair kissing while on holiday, clearly as loved up as ever.

However, mean-spirited commenters labelled her 'fat' in the post and claimed that she 'looked pregnant'  posted a statement via Twitter speaking out to those who commented about her body.

Standing her ground and refusing to take the picture down, she explained: "I was on a beach with my boyfriend at the weekend and we were happy together.

She later said: "To those people who posted hurtful, insulting comments I suggest you go away and look at your lives and ask yourselves why you feel the need to make women feel bad about themselves."

"Because you are the ones with the problem and I genuinely feel sorry for you."

Rachel finished by saying: "I'm saying this on behalf of myself and all those girl who have ever been made to feel bad about their bodies.

"Because no one should ever be made to feel under pressure about their weight by others! #teamrealwomen."

The statement was also accompanied by the hashtag #beatbodyshaming and was met with hundreds of messages from fans who supported the London-based nurse's amazing take down of her haters.

Some even took to the photo online to fight the trolls back directly, while more than 300 people retweeted the statement.

One fan wrote: "you have a lovely figure and everyone commenting negativity should learn to be a little more humble.

"I admire confidence in people and this picture makes me feel like I should wear my bikini with confidence on my holiday next week! After all confidence is the best outfit you can wear."
