Although the trailer keeps things vague, 32-year-old Aidan’s voiceover promises they’ll be lots more drama and action.

Ross Poldark announces: “I’ve fought for our liberty, for our hopes, for our dreams.

"And I'll keep on fighting, whatever the cost."

Series one proved to be a mega hit for the BBC, with a staggering 5.9million viewers tuning into the finale back in April.

Aidan said: "I love shooting the show, I love Cornwall, and adore everyone in the show, so it'll be fun."

We previously revealed how this series will deviate slightly from Winston Graham’s original novels which the show is based around.

A shock storyline which Poldark rapes his ex has been axed, Aidan previously told us.

The rape scene is in the third book of author Winston Graham’s Poldark tale, called Warleggan, written in 1953.

Aidan said the BBC1 version will show an affair, rather than an attack.

He explained: “It seems consensual, and it just seems right. He goes to talk. He doesn’t go to commit a crime.

“They talk and it seems like there is still this spark between them, this unfinished business emotionally.

“Certainly, that’s how Ross feels. He doesn’t force himself upon her.”
