X Factor’s Louis Walsh slams Nick Grimshaw and admits ‘we didn’t want Rita Ora’
The Irish star has launched a scathing attack on the former judges
X FACTOR’s Louis Walsh has lashed out at last year’s judges Nick Grimshaw and Rita Ora while slamming the previous series entirely.
The 63-year-old music mogul, who returns to the judging panel this year alongside Sharon Osbourne and Nicole Scherzinger, attacked the duo in a scathing new interview where he branded them inexperienced and incapable of spotting talent.
Louis told Best magazine: “Sharon and I are old, but that means we’re far more experienced, unlike the young whippersnappers on last year’s panel who didn’t know a thing about talent.”
The Irish star also claims it was his influence that got Rita Ora the sack from the show.
Louis added: “Sharon and I pushed for Nicole, we didn’t want Rita Ora. It turned into a fashion show. The panel didn’t have the right credentials. They were lightweight.”
Despite initially claiming he left the show after one series with Rita Ora by his own choice, this week Nick Grimshaw joked they were indeed sacked.
While chatting with Rita on his Radio 1 breakfast show, Nick confessed: “It’s nonsense quotes like that got us all fired,” after Rita compared a singers voice to a cooked ham.
