Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes wade into Liz Hurley son Photoshop riddle as they debate teenage drinking

RUTH Langsford and Eamonn Holmes joined the debate regarding an image of Liz Hurley’s son which has appeared to be Photoshopped.

In the picture Damian, 14, adopts a slightly bizarre pose with his hand while standing alongside his mother at a high society bash.

Discussing the image on This Morning, the hosts launched a debate about teenage drinking amid speculation it was a glass of champagne that was removed from his hand.

Treading very carefully, Ruth began: “People are saying it looks like the image might have been altered. If you look it looks like Liz has what looks like a glass of champagne in her hand. I can’t confirm that.

“He might have  had a bottle of something, or glass of something or he might just have been holding his hand awkwardly. The suggestion is that has been photoshopped and the suggestion is that what he had in his hand might have been taken out, allegedly. We don’t know. Some people are saying maybe it was a glass of champagne.”

Eamonn, who described Liz as the ‘yummiest mummy of them all’, then proceeded to mimic Damian’s hand saying: “My Action Man was like that – his hands were like that.”

Ruth continued: “It did get us thinking about children and alcohol. Damian is 14, we have a 14-year-old son. They think they are very grown up but they are not at the age they can drink… except you can drink if it’s a private event and you have your parent’s permission. It’s not actually illegal.”

She added: “I am a little bit on the fence.”

Eamonn quickly interrupted saying: “You are so not darling, you drink.”

Ruth responded “No I have a drink but if you say to your children never drink…”

Her husband again interrupted, demanding: “When did you start?”

She replied: “I’m not telling you that not on national television. I was of legal age of 18 at the time.”

Eamonn later said: “I have a funny love hate relationship with alcohol. I am not overly fussed with it but ironically I worked in a bar for many many years, indeed if I wasn’t doing this job I would be a bar man. I absolutely have no doubt about that.

He continued: “My son brews his own ale so it is therefore part of the family…”

Ruth interrupted saying: “He wasn’t drinking when he was young.”

“I didn’t say that darling, I was talking about my relationship with alcohol, " Eamonn said. "I have never been one of those people who thought I want to get plastered. I don’t lick my lips the way Ruth does.”

Meanwhile the debate got people talking - with them both calling in to share their stories and also taking to Twitter.

One person wrote: “#THISMORNING a 14 year old had a glass of champagne, the reason it was photoshopped was because of the exact way This Morning is reacting.”

While another asked: “So what if @ElizabethHurley son had a glass of champagne, he was supervised, not like some the riff raff drinking outside Tesco #ThisMorning.”

And a further viewer added: “Does it really matter if some people drink under the legal age?? As long as their drinking with someone and not alone  #ThisMorning.”
