Peter Andre overcome with emotion as son Junior, 16, hugs him after getting a motorbike for his birthday

PETER Andre was overcome with emotion as his son Junior rushed over and hugged him after getting his birthday present.

The 48-year-old singer admitted "I'm a big softie" after the touching moment when he gave the lad a scooter for his 16th birthday.

Junior opened the door to the family's Surrey mansion looking stunned to see the gleaming red bike in the drive.

He told dad Pete and his wife Emily: "No way, you actually got me one. Look at his face, oh my gosh.

"Dad, thank you so much, I love you. I'm getting emotional guys. What the hell, how did you convince him? Wow."

The father and son - 47-year-old Peter's eldest child with ex Katie Price - then hugged in the driveway.

He later admitted in the : "I got emotional because I'm a big softie."

However, he stressed the scooter wasn't the sort of high-powered motorbike he wasn't allowed to ride when he was a teenager.

Addressing his own father in Australia, he insisted the scooter was speed-limited to 30mph and would only be driven on the local roads.

The bike came with a set of L-plates but Emily, 31, told the lad: "We've booked your test for 3 July."

Peter is a proud dad to three children as well as Junior - Princess, 13, Amelia, seven, and Theo, four.
