He went on, after the 0-0 draw was confirmed: "Bottom line: Scotland wanted it more than England & played with more fire, intensity, passion and drive.
"You can’t teach footballers those qualities. It’s about hunger & heart."
The former Good Morning Britain star was at the stadium with his son Spencer and posted a selfie with the pitch in the background before kick-off.
He was joined by Scot stars including Lorraine Kelly and Love Island's Iain Stirling who proudly lined up behind their national team on Instagram.
ITV star Lorraine, 61, posed in her kitchen wearing a Scotland national team scarf with her dog Angus before heading to Wembley.
She danced around to Scotland's adopted anthem Yes Sir I Can Boogie with the pet, who was wearing a shirt with his name on it, she wrote: "C’mon Scotland 🏴."
Mel C, who was supported England, congratulated Scotland after the game, writing: "Well done Scotland, you played brilliantly.
"England, You could do better. Great to share the points and enjoy the banter with Lorraine."
But as Lorraine celebrated, fans at home wondered if the broadcaster she's synonymous with might be behind England's disappointing result.
One viewer spotted that the team's record when their matches have been shown on BBC is far better than on ITV, as was the case last night.
He said that in 24 ITV games, England won just four, drawn 12 and lost eight, while in the 22 on BBC the team won an impressive 15, drew three and lost just four.
Blaming a so-called #ITVCurse, he wrote: "The last time England won in 90mins on ITV Jude Bellingham was 8 years old."
England legend David Beckham watched the match from the stands at Wembley, alongside son Romeo, 18.
The pair both looked incredibly smart in matching dark suits and ties as they were picked out by TV cameras.
Before kick-off Mark Wright, 34, shared a video of him tucking into a round of Peronis with Josh and Elliott Wright, following it up with shots.
He later posed alongside his dad, who is also called Mark, writing: "Me and the old man!!"
Love Island voiceover man Iain Stirling, boyfriend of host Laura Whitmore, posed in a Scotland shirt at their home pub The Snug before the game.

He predicted Scotland would win 4-0 writing: "Dreaming of a huge result today, Kevin Nisbet with the winner."
However, perhaps being diplomatic or simply confused, Kerry Katona posed in a yellow Sweden shirt in a snap shared by pal Ulrika Jonsson.
