But during the 2016 series of Celebrity Big Brother, he was removed on Day 9 for making "a number of comments capable of causing great offence to housemates and the viewing public".

The gay star was accused of homophobia by viewers after he said: “Gays had been really badly treated for so long. Then came a period where they were respected.

“But suddenly a killer disease then came along which was attributed to homosexuals – but it was actually a bisexual disease.”

Biggins is currently a contestant on Celebrity MasterChef: Christmas Cook-Off, where he will compete with broadcaster and journalist Janet Street-Porter, TV personality Vicky Pattison and radio presenter Dev Griffin, to take home the title of Christmas champion.

What else does Christopher Biggins do?

When he's not on telly, Biggins used to focus his time on his acting career, often appearing in Christmas pantomimes.

His efforts in this department earned him the Lifetime Achievement award at the Great British Pantomime Awards in 2017.
However, after an exhausting 40 years on the panto circuit, the actor revealed that 2017 was his final performance.
