'REMEMBER MY WORST HANGOVER EVER?'

Ex Top Gear hosts Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond in hilarious clip for new show The Grand Tour

Trio prove they've still got it ahead of official launch

FANS of petrol-heads Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond have reacted with delight following a teaser video from their new series The Grand Tour being posted online.

The former Top Gear hosts can be seen huddled together as Jez regales his co-presenters with one of his infamous tales of past car mishaps.

He recalled to a captivated James and Richard: “You know I did that thing once where I was a rally co-driver and I had the worst hangover ever?

“I sat in the passenger seat and they had the flag across the windscreen counting down ‘three, two…,’ and I was sitting there silently saying ‘If there is a God, please intervene now!’”.

It would appear that someone was indeed looking out for the 56-year-old, as he concluded: “As they lifted the flag up, there was an almighty bang from the back and they said ‘quick, see what that is’.

“So I got up – I’m not a mechanically-minded man – I went ‘yeah, your drive shaft’s gone!’”

His anecdote was met by chuckles onscreen and the thumbs up by fans online.

One wrote: “This is what we always loved about Top Gear. The cars were secondary. It was always about the three of them bloking around the world (sic).”

Another agreed: “Good old gang, simply irreplaceable.”

As a third person chipped in: “Haha, seeing you guys together makes me happy, thank you can’t wait to see the future stuff!”

The Grand Tour is set to hit online streaming service Amazon Prime later this year, no release date has as yet been divulged.

The trio departed the BBC’s Top Gear last year after Jeremy was sacked for punching a producer.
