CULTURE Club star Boy George has revealed his heartache after a pal took her own life hours after posting a worrying message online.
The 55-year-old singer told on Twitter how he was “struggling” in the wake of Alice Shaw’s death.
He wrote: “My long time friend @ alifromdapally took her own life. I am struggling with this. I’m am devastated but I need to say how much I loved her!”
Please know I am more at peace now than I have been in a very long time and there is nothing anyone could have done.”
She attached a picture showing a black heart pendant and the words “Au revoir”.
While it is unclear how their friendship began, Alice had been a dancer for George – real name George Alan O’Dowd – many years ago during an appearance on TV chat show Parkinson.
She tweeted the former The Voice judge in June to wish him a happy birthday.
Sharing a picture showing the two embracing, it was captioned: “Happy birthday honey”.
Another friend of the late Alice called Bennie Denton lamented on social media: “@alifromdapally why why why why why why, I will miss you for the rest of my days such a beautiful soul taken 2 soon.”
