Carol Vorderman reveals incredible throwback to her first wedding at 24 years old
CAROL Vorderman gushed over her "cute bride" look as she reminisced about her first wedding.
The former Countdown host, 60, took a trip down memory lane, sharing black and white snaps of the stunning ceremony where she said I Do to Christopher Mather.
Carol, who was married to the Royal Navy officer between 1985 and 1986, looked amazing in her wedding day snap wearing a detailed floral tiara pinned onto her brunette curls.
She chose to go fresh-faced for her special day, wearing natural make-up and accessorising with a drop earring.
Her bandeau neckline gown featured pretty rosebuds stitched onto the sleeves and the broadcaster held a matching bouquet.
The image saw Christopher plant a kiss on her cheek as they marked their happy moment.
Carol shared the image to her Instagram, stating Hello! Magazine had reminded her of the day.
In the caption she wrote: "Cute bride ... age 24."
Then perhaps hinting at the heartbreak to come, she added: "All good so far," followed by a thoughtful Emoji face.
Carol was 24 on the day of the ceremony and their time as husband and wife lasted a year.
She previously told BBC Radio Wales she had got changed half way through the ceremony into a gown which was "entirely mesh with sequins in all the right places."
She added: “So I had this thing that was probably not appropriate for a bride and I got on the stage and sang It's Raining Men.”
Four years after the pair's divorce, Carol married media personality and management consultant Patrick King in 1990.
The pair, who share two children, divorced a decade later.
Single lady Carol has been filling her social media with sexy snaps of late, including one showing her in a low cut swimsuit.
The Sun exclusively revealed how she had been bombarded with messages from men and women since joining celeb dating app, Raya.
Carol told The Sun she made it clear to potential suitors she wasn’t looking for anything longterm during a brief stint on the app.
She said: “A mate of mine said it would be a laugh. A lot of LA people made contact, men and women funnily enough, but it’s not my scene.
“I’m quite happy with my usual way of doing things. But life is never dull.”
She also confessed the constraints of the coronavirus-imposed UK lockdown had stopped her from "getting into mischief."
The maths whizz said her usual antics have been ruled off limits thanks to the ongoing stay-at-home Covid curbs.
Speaking on BBC1's Morning Live today about how she has been coping alone in lockdown, Carol said: "My mum lived with me for decades, you know I was my mum’s full time carer. I’m very sad she died a few years ago."

She then added with a cheeky smile: "But I don’t have those responsibilities now and I always say I love getting up to mischief which lockdown has put a stop to."

Laughing, show host Gethin Jones interrupted her and said: “That’s probably a good place to stop as you’re about to start talking about mischievous stuff.
“Maybe for another day. Carol, thank you.”
