Now over 20 years on Holby City has it's own legion of loyal fans and is just as popular as its predecessor.

You can catch Holby City every Tuesday at 19.50pm on BBC one.
All episodes then feature on the once they have aired.
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic filming for the show has been limited.
This means the current length of an episode is 40 minutes not an hour.
What is Holby City about
Holby premiered on BBC One on January 12, 1999.
It follows the lives of medical and ancillary staff at the fictional Holby City Hospital, the same hospital as Casualty, in the fictional city of Holby.
It also features occasional crossovers of characters and plots with both Casualty and the show's 2007 police spin-off Holby Blue.
Where is Holby City filmed?
Holby City is set in the Holby City Hospital in the fictional county of Wyvern in southwest England near the Welsh border
The city is set near Bristol but the series is filmed at the BBC Elstree Center in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire.
Casualty is filmed on a set in Bristol, however this was not big enough to hold a surgical ward and an operating theatre that is required for the filming of Holby City.
Has anyone famous been on Holby City?
Like its sister show, Holby City has seen many famous faces walk through its doors.
Lee Mead started his TV career on the show, as did Jodie Comer.
Other famous faces include Paul O'Grady, Helen Flanagan, Kym Marsh and Maureen Lipman.
