LEGENDARY punk singer John Lydon looks a world away from his Johnny Rotten alter ego while out shopping in Malibu.

The Sex Pistols frontman, 60, has ditched the wacky stage costumes and crazy coloured hairstyles for a far more conservative look, baring more than a passing resemblance for a medical professional in his pale blue ensemble.

John wore a button up short sleeved shirt and matching shorts, which he teamed with a pair of black and red Adidas trainers and a pair of mirrored sunglasses.

Having sported an array of colourful and crazy hair styles over the years, the singer sported a more subtle strawberry blonde quiff.

Despite spending a lot of time across the pond, John was outspoken about the EU Referendum which gripped Britain earlier this year.

The God Save the Queen singer told the  he backed Brexit and was pleased to see the working classes had risen up against the Conservative party.

"We are the great consistent that makes this great country tick. We are the Brits.

"We have all been voting for something. Either way you look at it, is not going to be beneficial initially but it is a nice idea to take back our country."

While Johnny's political views remain strong, his musical tastes have mellowed over the years.

He said: "I love the Bee Gees and b******* to those that don’t."

John celebrated his milestone 60th birthday in January, and called it "a mid-life crisis."

"But everything in life is a crisis," he added. "We are so precious about ourselves.”
