Can you guess which Coronation Street star this smiling child grew up to be?

It’s Throwback Thursday, which means we’re being flooded with reams of photos of famous types when they were young, cute and innocent to coo over.

Coronation Street’s official Twitter account has been getting involved and posted this rather adorable photo of an angel-faced young boy – who grew up to be a rather badly behaved character on Corrie. Can you guess who it is?

Yes, it’s actor Jack P Shepherd – who plays David Platt on the soap – and definitely isn’t as happy on the show right now as he is here.

David’s currently having a shocker of a time on the cobbles after wife Kylie Platt was murdered.

Jack has called her final scenes “the most moving scenes he has ever had to film”.

He said: “When the cameras stopped filming I couldn’t stop crying the tears were very real.

“The script is superb, every word, every moment of the scene was exactly right.”

Paula Lane, who plays Kylie, said: “It was very emotional to film the scenes knowing that I would never return and her death has huge consequences for David and all the family.”

The death of his wife will send troubled David back on a downward spiral he had previously come out of as he struggles to come to terms with losing Kylie.
