Khloe called off her divorce to support Lamar after a drug overdose
KHLOE Kardashian and Lamar Odom have had one of the most famous relationships in reality TV history.
After breaking up and reuniting over the years, they finally sat down together on the first episode of The Kardashians 2025.
Falling in love
Khloe and Lamar met at a party for NBA player Ron Artest in August 2009.
Lamar told Playboy that he thought: “With her, I was like, ‘If I do what I normally do, I’m going to lose her.
“And if I lose her, I think it’s going to hurt a lot. Right then and there, I knew. We were together every day.”
The pair got engaged just a few weeks later with Lamar proposing on Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
They tied the knot that same year, in a lavish Beverly Hills ceremony and began co-starring on their own show named Khloe & Lamar.
The relationship crumbles
However, the relationship was rocked by rumours that Lamar had cheated on his wife.
Khloe filed for divorce from Lamar on December 13, 2013, despite only being married to the NBA star for a little over three years.
Their divorce was finalized in 2015.
Khloe opened up to Complex at the time: “I miss what we had — things we got to do together are just memories. I like looking back and holding on to that stuff.
“I definitely miss it, and there’s times I’ll get so sentimental and so sad, but this had to happen for some reason. I’ll figure it out over time.
“Someone will give me that answer eventually.”
That same year, Lamar was found unconscious at a Nevada brothel, which left him in a coma and on life support.
Khloe decided to call off their divorce to support his recovery and even supported him through rehabilitation.
Speaking about that period in his life, Lamar said: “Anybody who’s lived a complicated, drug-infused life like I’ve lived knows the cycle – with women, cheating on my wife, sh** like that.
“I was in a motel room, getting high with this chick, and my wife (at the time) walked in. That probably was like rock bottom. First of all I was in a motel. A motel.
“I’m a millionaire. I’d made it out of Jamaica, Queens, and won two NBA titles.
“And I’m in a motel, with some random person, doing coke. But I just wanted to get high with this girl, and I had no other place to go.
“I couldn’t take her home. You know, I was being a scumbag.”
The Kardashian sister then re-filed for divorce in May 2016 and she was declared legally single that same year.
Khloe welcomes a child
Khloe gave birth to her first child with Tristan Thompson in April 2016, while caring for Lamar.
The pair split in February 2019, after Tristan allegedly cheated on Khloe with her sister Kyle Jenner’s then-best friend Jordyn Woods.
She began dating Tristan again in July 2020, before splitting in June 2021.
They reunited once more in October 2021 before separating in December 2021.
In July 2022, it was announced that Khloe and Tristan were expecting a baby boy.
Their son Tristan was born on July 28, 2022.
Khloe and Lamar meet again
Lamar and Khloe met once more in the 2025 series of The Kardashians.
Khloe’s friend Malaika set up a meeting between the pair and soon Lamar arrived with cake, chocolate and flowers.
When her ex-husband sat down, Khloe said: “You’re going to sit this close? How are we going to talk to each other?”
Lamar admitted that Khloe made her nervous.
The Kardashian sister gave Lamar a diamond chain with three angel wings to symbolize his late mother, grandmother and son.
In a slip-up, Lamar referred to Khloe as his “wife” but Khloe said that his words were “empty”.
Fans branded the scene “awkward” with one fan pointing out that the encounter was so tense that it made Lamar start “sweating”.
The US Sun revealed that Kris Jenner dragged Lamar back to the show in an effort to boost ratings.
An insider claimed that Khloe has “no storyline, zilch” and that her “simple life” as a mom has become a “problem for the show”.
The source also revealed that Kylie Jenner is unwilling to discuss her relationship with acclaimed Hollywood actor Timothee Chalamet.
Instead she wants to focus on her Kylie Cosmetics brand.
The source said: “It’s tough because they think their work is super interesting but audiences don’t want to hear about it.”
