A WOMAN who went through a near-death experience in the midst of a knife attack has opened up about what happened on This Morning.
Alison Ward was attacked by her former partner in front of her little boy in 1994, and as the blows continued to rain down on her, she had an out of body experience.
Speaking to This Morning hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, she said: "I knew I was dying, it was quite obvious, when the knife is in front of you that you’re dying.
"I had a sharp blow to the head went very woozy then felt myself leave the body.
"When you hear a cork pop, it felt like that. I was released from my physical shell and felt myself move at speed.
"I was moving I could see either side, tiny little snapshots, black and white photos."

Ruth asked if Alison felt it was like the cliche line of 'life passing before a person's eyes', and Alison agreed that was definitely the case.
She added: "Bizarrely I then started to see this light which was incredibly bright but it didn’t hurt my eyes, and all the physical pain that was going on back in the room disappeared.
"I felt like I was so supported, so loved. I mean I was so fearful that my little boy wasn’t going to be saved but I was feeling all this love and acceptance."
As Alison moved towards the light, she saw a triangle of people and at the front was her granddad Sam, who her son is named after.
She said: "I spoke to him but I heard someone say ‘It’s not time to go yet duck’ and I was back in my body, as I went out, the reverse, and I was instantly in pain and seeing that I was a bit of a mess."
While Alison went through post-traumatic stress disorder after recovering from the attack, her out of body experience has changed her life.
She explained: "It definitely changed my life, I see it as a beautiful gift in an ugly box. I came back very different.
"I obviously had post-traumatic stress disorder after something like that but I got myself well and in doing so I’ve been able to help other people, going through anxiety and post trauma disorders, it gave me my purpose."
