Ashley Taylor Dawson has revealed his character will be “haunted” by Patrick.

Ashley, up for Funniest Male and Sexiest Male in the Inside Soap Awards 2016, said: “Patrick’s body just keeps coming back to haunt Darren.”

And he reckons the show favourite’s problems are really mounting up.

He added: “I’m worried he may end up in prison. I really think that he’s going to have to serve time at some point – I don’t see how he can talk his way out of it.”

Patrick is one of the most loathed villains in soap - EVER - so it's no surprise that he's not letting death stop him from causing havoc.

When the evil teacher - played by Jeremy Sheffield - was diagnosed with a terminal illness, he decided against making amends with his loved ones.

Instead he dedicated his last months on earth framing his long-suffering wife Maxine Minnerver for his murder, fuelled by his hatred and jealousy of her new lover, Darren.

However, it wasn't Motor Neurone Disease that killed Patrick, it was his granddaughter Nico.

She killed him and buried him in a wall, perhaps as vengeance for chaining her mother Sienna to a radiator in a locked up basement.Patrick’s return won’t be the first time the C4 show has resurrected a character.

Steph Cunningham died in a fire in 2010, but later appeared as an angel in a visit to Doug Carter.
