Rio Ferdinand reveals Kate’s tears on Mother’s Day after stepson worried post about late mum would hurt Kate’s feelings
RIO Ferdinand has revealed his wife Kate broke down in tears on Mother’s Day when her stepson showed her kindness and consideration.
The youngster admitted he hadn’t posted anything about his late mum Rebecca, who died from breast cancer in 2015, for fear of upsetting Kate - leaving the former reality star very emotional.

Kate, 29, became a step-mum to Rio's three children Lorenz, Tate and Tia after he tragically lost his wife. She is also a new mum to son Cree.
Football pundit Rio opened up about the emotionally charged Mother’s Day as he discussed communication and grief on the Diary Of A Ceo podcast.
He praised his wife for helping him and the family communicate, describing her impact on the family as “unbelievable”.

Praising Kate, he explained: “I am fortunate I have an unbelievable wife I can talk to. Communicate is a massive improvement in my life. I am lucky.
“Massively, I don’t tell her enough. What she has brought to my life in terms of being able to open up and communicate, not only with her, but with my kids now. I speak to my kids in a different way now because I know how to communicate now and letting them show their feelings.”
The 42-year-old went on to reveal what happened on Mother’s Day, saying: “If there is a situation that is, for example Mother’s day has just gone. My mother has passed away, the babies their mum passed away as well, so, and Kate is a new mum.
“There are so many dynamics in that house. The emotional kind of energy in the house on that day is through the roof. And so to manage that and to make it a day when everyone is happy and celebrating mother’s day is a task in itself.

“But talking to the kids. We had a conversation on Mother’s Day, my little boy, I said, ‘you don’t post anything on Mother’s Day do you?’ and he is not an emotional poster.
“He said: ‘I was thinking about doing it this Mother’s Day but I wasn’t sure what to do about Kate and mum’. And Kate started crying really, she was like, ‘Post what you feel, don’t worry about no one else. Just post what you feel.’”
Rio added: “Those conversations I would never had have with my kids before. I was a closed book before emotionally. I will never be able to thank her enough for that one element, let alone all the other stuff she has brought to the table.
