Fans react with horror to shocking scenes in Coronation Street as Kylie Platt bleeds to death on the cobbles
Viewers took to Twitter to question why medics took so long to reach her
FANS reacted with horror to the shocking scenes in Coronation Street tonight as Kylie Platt bled to death on the iconic cobbles.
The beloved character was stabbed in the heart by thug Clayton and she collapsed on the street as her husband David Platt rushed to her side.
Kylie, played by Paula Lane, made her big exit in the show tonight following weeks of speculation about how the character will meet her end.
Fans were sent into a frenzy as they watch Kylie become embroiled in the horrifying knife drama.
She then lay dying in David's arms as he attempted to comfort while the ambulance was on its way.
However, she died just seconds before the medics arrived on the scene, and David let out a howl of anguish as he realised the doctors were too late to save his wife.
Fans took to Twitter to point out that the ambulance took its time getting to her, and many declared that Kylie could have been saved if medical assistance had been on the scene more quickly.
One wrote: "The amount of ambulances that have attended the cobbles before, what takes them so long to get there? #corrie...."
Another wrote: "If George Osborne and David Cameron didn't make so many cuts to the NHS that ambulance would have been quicker #Kylie #Corrie...
One tweeted a sarcastic Brexit reference, writing: "At least there is an extra £350 a week to help improve those ambulance times now though, yeah?...#Corrie"
Another wrote: "Well that ambulance took its time to get there on corrie".
Kylie's shocking death came after more than a month of speculation over how the Weatherfield favourite would die.
Producers managed to keep plot twist top secret ahead of the emotional farewell, with only a few photos teasing how she meets her maker.
Paula Lane, who has played the mum-of-two across the past six years, announced that she was leaving the show back in February.
