Polish telly dancer Ola Jordan fed up being branded a traitor after voting for Leave
The Strictly Come Dancing Star thinks leaving the EU will make Britain healthier in the long run
POLISH-born former Strictly star OLA JORDAN doesn’t feel comfortable in the UK any more after the Brexit vote.
But it’s the Remain voters who are making her uneasy. She revealed she’s been branded a “traitor” and “xenophobic” for voting to leave the European Union – and now she’s had enough.
In an exclusive interview, Ola, right, said: “People are quick to call me a traitor, saying I’m pulling up the drawbridge behind me, but I want what’s best for this country and open borders isn’t the answer.
“People don’t like hearing that from me because I’m Polish, but it’s true.
“I’ve never experienced racism in this country, I’ve always been respected and made to feel welcome. But when people try to tell me I’m xenophobic for my EU views, that comes close.
“I need to be careful of what I say and the Left aren’t always very tolerant of opposing views. But Britain will be healthier in the long run.”
Ola’s husband and fellow former Strictly pro JAMES JORDAN added: “We worry about being called racist, which is ironic considering I’m married to a Polish woman, but there you go.
“That’s how stifled the debate is.”
No wonder they’re relishing the successful result for Leave – not many public votes went their way on Strictly.
