Ashley Cain fights back tears and admits ‘I’m broken’ after baby daughter’s leukaemia relapse
ASHLEY Cain fought back tears and admitted "I'm broken" after his seven-month-old daughter Azaylia's leukaemia relapse.
The 30-year-old star took to Instagram last night to tell fans the devastating news that they are now left with "very few options" to beat the illness.
Azaylia had undergone a bone marrow transplant, but it had proven ineffective - with Ashley and his partner Safiyya left broken-hearted.
Their baby girl was urgently admitted back into hospital following the test results, and Ashley filmed from her hospital bedside as he told fans: "I'm just broken."
He later took to his social media Story once back at home, revealing that Safiyya was the one staying with their daughter overnight.
Ashley looked visibly devastated and fought back tears as he shared his hope for Azaylia's future.
He said: "I'm at home now, Saf's doing the first night at hospital and I'm at home tonight, it's crazy how lonely it feels here.
"I'm gutted, I'm heartbroken, I can't believe it. I can't believe it.
"Looking at her, she's so strong, so full of life, developing so well, and despite all the odds… She's got through every round of treatment so far.
"It's just she has this monster of a disease that's proving difficult to get rid of. But in herself, she's so good and so healthy."
Ashley had previously explained that they were waiting to hear if a clinic overseas was able to treat Azaylia as one of the family's last resorts.
He added in the video: "I just want to do everything in my power to give her the chance she deserves, so I'm hoping and praying this clinic accepts her tomorrow.
"So we can get over there and get her the chance that she needs to live."
Ashley thanked followers for their ongoing support as he concluded: "I don't really know where my head's at at the minute, it's hard to comprehend what's going on.
"I need a good night's rest and to get this news I am just praying for again tomorrow, and we can just power through and do what it takes to get our beautiful little girl the chance she deserves."
Ashley has not updated fans on whether they'd heard back from the clinic today, and has remained off social media since posting last night's video.
If Azaylia is accepted, the trio will be jetting overseas immediately for up to a year while she receives specialist care.
Ashley and Safiyya welcomed Azaylia in August, and were left devastated when she was diagnosed with leukaemia at eight weeks old.
He has been keeping fans updated on her treatment via Instagram, and admitted earlier this month that he is "mentally exhausted".
The family expected Azaylia to get the all-clear in February after gruelling chemotherapy treatment, but were left "blindsided" when they were instead told that the cancer had returned.
She went on to have a bone marrow transplant, which doctors hoped would beat the disease.

Ashley wrote earlier this week: "Consultants made us aware that if her leukaemia returns after transplant there are only few options left.
"Over the last few weeks we have been exploring one of these options, by weaning her off her cyclosporine medication to give her donor cells a boost, in the hope that they take action in combating the leukaemia."
