Jennifer Aniston reveals her pain at being forced to deny she’s pregnant ’12 times a day!’
Actress insists she is sick of speculation over whether she is starting a family
JENNIFER Aniston has written a candid open letter to set the record straight about the "absurd" pregnancy rumours surfaced over the last few weeks.
The actress has insisted she is not expecting a child with husband Justin Theroux and urged fans to stop speculating about her baby status every time she has a "burger for lunch".
Jennifer has faced speculation about being pregnant for years and most recently forced to reveal she'd just 'had a big lunch,' after she was spotted on holiday with a slightly larger stomach, but now the actress has spoken out to put an end to the rumours once and for all.
The former Friends star insisted she does hope to become a mother some day, and she will speak about the happy news if that time eventually comes.
For now, she wants the world to stop showing such an interest in her figure as she should not be made to feel bad about the changes her body is going though as she gets older.
The notoriously private star, who rarely addresses gossip about her personal life, made the admission in a lengthy note, which has been published on the 's website.
Jennifer wrote: "I may become a mother some day, and since I’m laying it all out there, if I ever do, I will be the first to let you know.
"But I’m not in pursuit of motherhood because I feel incomplete in some way...
"I resent being made to feel “less than” because my body is changing and/or I had a burger for lunch and was photographed from a weird angle and therefore deemed one of two things: “pregnant” or “fat.”
"Not to mention the painful awkwardness that comes with being congratulated by friends, coworkers and strangers alike on one’s fictional pregnancy (often a dozen times in a single day)."
Jennifer also pointed out that gossip about starting family can be hurtful because she does not want to be made to feel "incomplete" because she remains child-free at the age of 47.
She wrote: "If I am some kind of symbol to some people out there, then clearly I am an example of the lens through which we, as a society, view our mothers, daughters, sisters, wives, female friends and colleagues.
"The objectification and scrutiny we put women through is absurd and disturbing.
"Is she pregnant? Is she eating too much? Has she let herself go? Is her marriage on the rocks because the camera detects some physical “imperfection”?
"This past month in particular has illuminated for me how much we define a woman’s value based on her marital and maternal status...
"[It all] points to the perpetuation of this notion that women are somehow incomplete, unsuccessful, or unhappy if they’re not married with children."
The Hollywood star married actor/screenwriter Justin last summer in a lavish ceremony at the couple's home in Bel Air.
They began dating in 2011 and became engaged in 2012.
The marriage is the second for Jennifer as she was previously wed to Hollywood hunk Brad Pitt.
Their union crumbled after five years and they announced their split in 2005.
The actor went on to start a family with his Mr and Mrs Smith co-star Angelina Jolie and he is now dad to six children.
