ITV bosses to cash in on Love Island success with new programme following couples outside villa
Following knock out ratings ITV to air Love Island: Heading Home next Sunday showing fan favourites in the real world
THIS year’s Love Island has been filled with outrageous sex scenes, bust-ups and bitching.
And while the series ends tonight, ITV2 bosses have cashed in on the huge interest in TV sex and have commissioned a one-off which promises even more X-rated moments.
The show, Love Island: Heading Home, next Sunday at 9pm, will show what happened when the couples met for the first time since leaving the villa.
They will be seen dating and meeting each other’s friends and family as every twist and turn of their relationships in the “outside world” is shown.
The programme’s most popular couples, including KADY McDERMOTT and SCOTT THOMAS, CARA DE LA HOYDE and NATHAN MASSEY, and EMMA-JANE WOODHAM and TERRY WALSH will all take part in the show, as will RYKARD JENKINS and RACHEL FENTON, who are said to be an item after a string of dates since leaving the island.

A show insider said: “Love Island is enjoying incredible ratings and doing a follow-up show was a no-brainer.
The islanders’ stresses on the show are nothing compared to the pressure in the outside world. We’ll see who flourishes and who flounders.
“Show bosses want to see the couples go on dates or film in each other’s houses and cameras will follow their every move.”
If Heading Home has as much sex as the main series, ratings are sure to go through the roof.
