Ross Kemp was shot at by ISIS sniper while filming his scariest documentary film to date
Former Eastenders hardman faced toughest challenge yet in war-torn Syria
ROSS Kemp has always had a reputation for being a hard nut - and now he can add 'bullet dodger' to his CV after his most gruelling challenge yet left him being shot at by ISIS.
The 51-year-old actor-turned-investigative journalist takes his camera crew to the war torn Middle East - and has revealed that he very nearly didn't make it out alive.
For his latest documentary, Ross heads to Syria and Iraq to meet with Kurdish armed forces who are currently fighting against those from Islamic State, and witnessing the devastation the conflict has caused.
But their journey takes a deadly twist as they are suddenly shot at by ISIS snipers on the west bank of the Euphrates river in Syria.
He explained: "The sniper opened fire on us as I was just a few feet from cover and the crew were still trying to get across."
Luckily the cast and crew managed to escape unscathed.

Ross has also praised the Kurdish forces who are trying to stop ISIS in their tracks.
He said: "The Kurds are a beacon of light in a sea of tyranny. They’ve taken the fight to ISIS.
"Behind the front lines I’ve witnessed a genuine movement for democracy, equality and tolerance."
The new documentary, set to air this week, is the latest in a long line of films fronted by Ross that explores different ideas of violence.
Previous efforts have included a gang special, a search for pirates, and a trip to war-torn Afghanistan.
The star has recently made a brief return to Albert Square to reprise his role of Grant in Eastenders.
Fans were left reeling as the cast and crew said goodbye to Mitchell matricarch Peggy - who after being diagnosed with terminal cancer, decided to end her life on her own terms instead of succumbing to the disease.
On top of his lucrative documentary series and acting roles, Ross has proved he really is the jack of all trades after setting up a third business - flogging motors as a used car salesman.
At least you can never say the man isn't versatile!
