Katie Price wears Caroline Flack ‘Be Kind’ T-shirt on first anniversary of her death
KATIE Price has been seen wearing a T-shirt featuring Caroline Flack with her quote “Be Kind” on the first anniversary of her death.
The TV star took her own life at her North London home in February 2020 aged 40, devastating her family, friends and fans.
Paying tribute to Caroline, Katie, 41, donned a black T-shirt with a photo of the smiling star alongside a quote.
It read: “You can’t judge others. You never know what is going on in their mind or body.”
Holding her hand was boyfriend Carl Woods, 32, who wore a white T-shirt with the same "Be kind" message alongside a photo of the late DJ Avicii who took his own life in 2018.
The words will be forever associated with the Love Island host and the inspirational quote has gone viral today on the first anniversary of her death as friends and fans pay tribute.
She famously posted a message on Instagram in 2019 reading "In a world where you can be anything, be kind."
Following her tragic death, it was adopted by fans to encourage people to be nicer to one another.
Today the phrase is once again being used as Caroline is remembered.
Katie is one of many celebrities honouring the TV presenter, with many taking to social media to share happy memories and poignant thoughts.
Leading the tributes on Instagram was broadcaster Laura Whitmore who shared a clip of her Radio 5 Live show in which she spoke movingly about celebrating Caroline's life.
The 35-year-old also had singer Imelda May record a cover of one of the star's favourite songs, The Glory of Love, to mark her anniversary.
In the clip taken from her show yesterday, Laura said: "It doesn't get any easier to comprehend - and sometimes when you can't think of the right words to say a song can feel more appropriate.
"So it will be a difficult time, but I hope a chance to celebrate her memory.
"And this song to those who knew Caroline well is very special. Her family played it at her funeral last year...
"...This is one of Caroline's favourite songs. This is The Glory of Love".
Alongside the clip, Laura shared a lyric from the Bette Midler classic with a photo of them in happier times.
Channel 4 wrote on Twitter: "Our thoughts are with Caroline's family, friends and fans. Remember, it's more important than ever to #BeKind."
Denise Van Outen posted a love heart and added "remembering @crolineflack1 #BeKind."
One fan wrote: "Every time I saw Caroline she was smiling. Vivacious and mischievous is how I’ll always remember her. Today I’m reminded to #BeKind. My thoughts are with her family."
Another posted: "R. I. P Caroline Flack can't believe it was a year ago today, thoughts with family and friends at this difficult time and remember to be kind to people you never know what their going through #CarolineFlack #BeKind."
While a third shared: "One year ago today since we lost the beautiful Caroline Flack what an absolute sweetheart with the biggest heart she was
"In a world where you can be anything.. Be Kind rip Caroline xx miss you xx."
More than 200 people attended a private funeral for Caroline near her family home in Norfolk last March.
At the time, her mum Christine said: “There were lots of memories, smiles but mostly tears as we all remembered Carrie and the joy she had brought to all of our lives.”
She thanked Caroline’s “old pals” from her impressive list of famous shows — I’m A Celeb, Xtra Factor, Strictly, Bake Off and Love Island, which she hosted for five years.
Last week Caroline's friend Kristina Rihanoff shared her regret over not contacting her in the months before she died.
The Russian dancer, 43, shared: "I should have reached out...I feel such guilt.
"During Strictly she had a lot of difficulties, coming out of a relationship and so on.
"She had a few wobbles on the tour and didn’t want to perform, so we knew there were a lot of things going on with her emotional state.
You're Not Alone
EVERY 90 minutes in the UK a life is lost to suicide.
It doesn't discriminate, touching the lives of people in every corner of society - from the homeless and unemployed to builders and doctors, reality stars and footballers.
It's the biggest killer of people under the age of 35, more deadly than cancer and car crashes.
And men are three times more likely to take their own life than women.
Yet it's rarely spoken of, a taboo that threatens to continue its deadly rampage unless we all stop and take notice, now.
That is why The Sun launched the You're Not Alone campaign.
The aim is that by sharing practical advice, raising awareness and breaking down the barriers people face when talking about their mental health, we can all do our bit to help save lives.
Let's all vow to ask for help when we need it, and listen out for others... You're Not Alone.
