Charisma Carpenter accuses Buffy the Vampire Slayer director Joss Whedon of ‘cruel’ behavior & brands him ‘the vampire’
BUFFY The Vampire Slayer star Charisma Carpenter has accused Joss Whedon of "cruel and abusive behavior."
Charisma, who starred as Cordelia on the cult 90s drama and the spin-off Angel, took to social media on Wednesday to share her story, and branded the director a "vampire" who "sucked out joy and promise."
She thanked the Times Up movement for allowing her to "understand the complexities of this demoralized thinking," adding that "these memories and more have weighed on my soul like bricks for nearly half of my life."
The star also revealed she had been helping Warner Bros in their Justice League investigation, after unprofessional, and completely unacceptable."
Ray responded to claim he "did not publicly step down from anything," though later noted he would "not participate in any production associated" with DC Films President Walter Hamada.
"I believe Ray to be a person of integrity who is telling the truth," Charisma continued. "His firing as Cyborg was the last straw for me."
She added that it was troubling that in 2021 "professionals still have to choose between whistleblowing in the workplace and job security."
Charisma's claims comes nearly four years after Whedon's ex-wife Kai Cole claimed he was a "hypocrite" who was "preaching feminist ideals, while at the same time... deceiving me for 15 years, so he could have everything he wanted."
A spokesperson for Whedon at the time said: "While this account includes inaccuracies and misrepresentations which can be harmful to their family, Joss is not commenting, out of concern for his children and out of respect for his ex-wife."
The Sun has contacted reps for Joss for comment.
Buffy The Vampire Slayer ran for seven seasons between 1996 and 2003.
