Britney Spears’ shaved head ‘meltdown’ revisited in new documentary
BRITNEY Spears’ shaved head “meltdown” and the infamous umbrella photo were revisited in a new documentary about the singer being “framed.”
Framing Britney Spears showed how the singer rose and fell from fame before her dad took over with a conservatorship.
On Thursday night, FX premiered the first episode of Framing , where several of the most impactful moments of her life were remembered and attributed as the reason why she fell from grace.
Married to Kevin Federline
One of the moments that most shocked fans was when she and Kevin, who was one of her backup dancers at the time, quickly married back in 2004.
The couple married in September and then made it official in October when Britney was just 22 years old. It wasn’t long until she announced she was pregnant with their first kid in 2005.
Longtime friend of Britney, Felicia Culotta, told FX during the docu-series: “I don’t think I was at all surprised when she and Kevin got engaged.”
Things quickly came crashing down when Britney gave birth to their second child in September 2006 as she filed for divorce just two months later.
Pictures of her partying until the early hours of the night and her driving with her sons on her lap were released.
Former paparazzi Daniel Ramos said during the television event: “She was very friendly, a sweetheart of a girl.
“It’s like she needed us and we needed her…it was a great kind of a relationship.”
Shaving Her Head

At the time, paps were chasing Britney all day just to get a glimpse of her and be able to sell her photos for as much as $1M.
She later apologized for her actions and was checked into rehab.
Attacking the Paps with an Umbrella
Just a few weeks after she shaved her head, Britney made headlines again when she attacked paparazzi that were chasing her with a purple umbrella.
In the docu-series, Ramos explained: “Working on her for so many years, she never gave a clue or information to us that ‘I don’t appreciate you guys, leave me the eff alone.'”
He proceeded to explain that they only understood it as her being left alone for the day, not forever, which potentially caused her break down.
Conservatorship
Following her stints in rehab, shaving her head, and attacking paps, Britney’s father, Jamie, was named conservator and put in charge of the singer’s person and estate.
Due to the conservatorship, , who are being raised by Kevin full-time.
In the last few months, the singer has taken her father to court and demanded he is removed as her conservator, but sadly, has failed.
Her conservatorship has been extended until September of 2021.
