Zayn Malik CAUGHT baby daughter Khai when girlfriend Gigi Hadid gave birth and had ‘terror in his eyes’, says model
GIGI Hadid revealed boyfriend Zayn Malik caught their baby daughter Khai when she gave birth - and said the singer had "terror in his eyes".
The first time mum, 25, gave a detailed account of her labour to in which she described herself as "an animal woman".
She said: "I had to dig deep. I knew it was going to be the craziest pain in my life, but you have to surrender to it and be like, 'This is what it is'. I loved that."
The supermodel was so swept up in the moment that she was unaware she'd birthed her daughter and the newborn was in her dad's arms.
“It didn’t even click that she was out," she explained. "I was so exhausted, and I looked up and he’s holding her. It was so cute.
"I know my mom and Zayn and Bella were proud of me, but at certain points I saw each of them in terror. Afterward, Z and I looked at each other and were like, 'We can have some time before we do that again.'"
Gigi gave birth at her and Zayn's New York home 10 weeks ago and she listened to an audio version of children's book The Indian in the Cupboard to relax.
Khai's name is Arabic for “the chosen one” and Gigi described her entry into the world as "peaceful".
Doting dad Zayn has already bought her the entire Disney cartoon collection as well as his favourite Bollywood films.
For her cover shoot, supermodel Gigi modelled a selection of vibrant skirts and dresses.

In her interview she explained she was comfortable in her post-baby body and felt no pressure to bounce back to a size zero straight away.
Becoming parents has been a life-changing experience for the pair, with Gigi writing on Instagram shortly after the birth: " "Our girl joined us earth-side this weekend and she’s already changed our world. So in love."
She has also thanked former One Direction singer Zayn for making her mum to the "best girl ever".
