What was Mick Norcross’ cause of death?

TOWIE fans were left saddened following the news that show favourite Mick Norcross had died.

A year later, his son Kirk Norcross has spoken for the first time about his father's death.

What was Mick Norcross' cause of death?

An inquest on February 3, 2021 heard that Mick was found hanged in the basement of his Essex home.

Hours before his death the businessman posted a cryptic message on Twitter  which read: "At the end remind yourself that you did the best you could. And that is good enough."

Essex Police confirmed at the time his death was not being treated as suspicious.

Toxicology tests have been carried out but the results were not read to the court in Essex.

When did Mick Norcross die?

The businessman, 57, was discovered dead in Bulphan, Essex, at 3.15pm on January 21. 2021.

His former Towie co-stars rushed to pay tribute to him.

Gemma Collins - who he briefly dated - said: "ALWAYS A GENTLEMAN.

"Absolutely shocked and saddened by the news. My thoughts and prayers are going out to Kirk family and friends absolutely tragic."

James Argent said: "A true gentleman & a very kind man! RIP Mick."

Taking to Twitter, Mark Wright wrote: "RIP Mick N. You were a great man, an inspiration to many, always so polite and welcoming.

What did Kirk Norcross say about his dad's death?

Kirk Norcross gave his first TV interview today (January 20) since his father's death life last year.

Talking to the Loose Women panellist, Kirk explained that he has suffered from depression and PTSD since the death of his dad, as he opened flashbacks of the moment he found him.

With the anniversary of his death tomorrow (January 21), Kirk said it has been “the quickest year and the slowest year ever”.

Kirk went on to explain how he cannot stress it enough for people to open up about how they feel and "talk to people".

“I live next to my father. I was with him the night before and he was fine. He gave me his next business strategy.

“Then the next afternoon he killed himself. I was indoors having my lunch and I got a call from my dad's partner saying she couldn't find him.

“I don't know why but I knew what had happened.”

Struggling to hold the tears back as he described smashing the door of his father's house to find him hanging.

“It was surreal. It was like my life ended.” he explained.

Kirk described his dad as his “best friend and hero" and has urges others to speak out if they need support.

When was Mick Norcross on Towie?

Mick joined the cast of Towie in the early series alongside his son Kirk, Mark Wright and Lucy Mecklenburgh.

The popular TV celebrity caught the eye of Gemma Collins and the pair went out on dates during the early episodes.

He also dated fellow stars Chloe Sims and Maria Fowler

But in 2013 he revealed he was leaving the show over fears it was damaging the image of his nightclub.

He told The Sun at the time: "My club is an upmarket venue where people come to drink champagne and feel spoiled.

"All these rows they keep filming don’t show the club in a good light and I’m worried it’s putting people off coming, which is the last thing I want.

"I've had enough. I'm out."
