‘I was desperate to be famous but people wanting to talk to me about my teeth was overwhelming’: Rylan Clark reveals why he lives a reclusive lifestyle
The Big Brother presenter spent £25,000 on his teeth back in 2013
RYLAN Clark-Neal has revealed he hates going out because people always want to talk about his teeth.
The Big Brother's Bit On The Side presenter had cosmetic work done on his smile back in 2013 at a cost of £25,000.
However, while he always wanted to be famous Rylan admits he stays away from parties and media events now because he hates being recognised.
He told Best magazine: "I think I wanted so much to be famous that, when I got there, I became scared of it.
"I find it hard when I go into a shop and all these people want to talk about my teeth or X Factor, and all I want to do is run and hide.
"It's lovely and flattering, but it's quite frightening too.
He continued: "I have a work life and a home life, but I don't have a social life - I can't cope with it."
Speaking about his personal life, Rylan said he and his husband Dan Neal wanted to keep their wedding private.
He said: "I refused to sell my wedding to a magazine, and I hope people understand that we wanted to be on our own.
"I think that says a lot about me. My home life is the only private thing I have."

Rylan is also a regular contributor to This Morning and will be hosting the Xtra factor this year with DJ Matt Edmondson.
However, he wishes he could do his job without the fame aspect of his career.
He said: "I love my job but I hate everything that comes with it. Like everyone knowing who you are.
"It's flattering that people want to talk to me but it's turned me into an agoraphobic.
"You don't see me at events because I hate them.
"I love my job but I wish that the second I come off the TV, everyone forgets who I am until I'm back in the morning."
While Rylan, 27, loves his smiles, he says a huge change to your teeth is not for everyone.
He said: "Saying that though, these teeth saved my career because people were so busy looking at them when I started on Big Brother they didn't realise how bad I was at presenting.
"By the time they'd got used to the teeth I'd learned how to do the job."
