Geordie Shore’s Sophie Kasaei slammed for promoting holidays on day UK reaches 100k Covid deaths

SOPHIE Kasaei has been slammed for promoting holidays following the news the UK has surpassed 100,000 coronavirus deaths.

The 31-year-old Geordie Shore star, who recently returned from Dubai, was labelled "clueless" after plugging summer getaways to Magaluf and Zante.

In the post, Sophie was seen repping a branded t-shirt and shorts as she raved over the package holiday deals.

But it was the lengthy caption that really bothered fans, as she encouraged her followers to "party with us" at a selection of top resorts.

Sophie wrote: "VIP Guests wanted for the ultimate party holiday in 2021.

"This is a huge opportunity- tell only your best friends! Party with us on holiday in 2021."

The post didn't sit well with some.

One commenter wrote: "Posting this on the day we reached 100k deaths."

A second said: "Have you forgot the rules don’t apply to them as it’s WORK."

A third added: "Exactly Clueless. They're blind to it while living it up in Dubai though whoops sorry I mean (working)."

The controversial post followed shortly after Boris Johnson announced the UK had passed the tragic milestone of 100,000 deaths from coronavirus.

He said the huge death toll "exhausts the thesaurus of misery" and represents "an appalling and tragic loss of life".

The Prime Minister said: "I'm sorry to have to tell you that today the number of deaths recorded from Covid in the UK has surpassed 100,000.

"It's hard to compute the sorrow contained in that grim statistic - the years of life lost, the family gatherings not attended, and for so many relatives the missed chance even to say goodbye.

Earlier this month, Olivia Attwood slammed those travelling abroad during the pandemic.
