Now cast members want to remember the comedy writer and performer by commentating on her most iconic moments in a one-off show.

Posh Dom Parker, who appears on Gogglebox with wife Steph, said: “I think it would be a lovely way for us to honour a lady who gave our show that special humour and warmth.

“I can already picture a tribute show and I would be desperate to watch and relive the many special funny moments she gave us.

“I’m sure we will do something to honour her immeasurable contribution to the show’s success.”

He said: “We all knew when we signed up that Caroline was involved and someone of her calibre being involved assured us it was a good idea.

"Her loss is hugely felt and we were honoured to have her be a part of the show.

"We heard she loved hearing about our lives and watching us when she filmed the audio. My favourite thing she ever said is: ‘This week Dom was bitten by a parrot’.

“It’s special as well to have her create this bond between a classic comedy like The Royle Family and our show.

"We would have loved to have met her but we understood she was very ill and we are so sad that she has passed so young.

“It’s heartbreaking and our thoughts go to her family at this tough time.”
