The show, executive produced by Queen Latifah and directed by Mario Van Peebles, surprised fans when it revealed that Salt-N-Pepa worked with other future celebrities in a Sears call center.
Cheryl "Salt” James and Sandra “Pepa” Denton first met when they were both studying nursing at Queensborough Community College, and grew even closer through their job at a call center.
But the duo did indeed work with aspiring comic Martin Lawrence as well as rap duo Kid 'n Play whilst answering phones.

Martin was nominated for a Blockbuster Entertainment Award with Eddie Murphy for Favorite Comedy Team in 2000 for their movie Life.
