LIFETIME's new Salt-N-Pepa biopic has revealed things about the all-female rap group that even their most dedicated fans weren't aware of.

Did Martin Lawrence work with Salt-N-Pepa?

The show, executive produced by Queen Latifah and directed by Mario Van Peebles, surprised fans when it revealed that Salt-N-Pepa worked with other future celebrities in a Sears call center.

Cheryl "Salt” James and Sandra “Pepa” Denton first met when they were both studying nursing at Queensborough Community College, and grew even closer through their job at a call center.

But the duo did indeed work with aspiring comic Martin Lawrence as well as rap duo Kid 'n Play whilst answering phones.

Speaking to , Cheryl said: “I was going to school with Pep. Pep needed a job so I told her to come over to Sears.

"Kid ‘n Play were already there and then Martin Lawrence came over from D.C. and started working there.”

Who is Martin Lawrence?

Martin Lawrence, 55, is a comedian, actor and talk show host.

You might recognise him best as Big Momma, from Big Momma's House, or as Detective Marcus Burnett from Bad Boys.

He also starred as Martin in the popular Fox sitcom as the titular character, which became one of the network's highest-rated shows during its run.

Martin has taken on roles in various children's films - most notably starring as a voice actor opposite in Open Season.

The star also hosted HBO's Def Comedy Jam from 1993 to 1994.

His debut role was as Maurice Warfield in the sitcom What’s Happening Now!!

Since then, he has starred in comedy films such as Do the Right Thing, House Party and National Security.

Martin was nominated for a Blockbuster Entertainment Award with Eddie Murphy for Favorite Comedy Team in 2000 for their movie Life.
