Vicky Pattison’s ex-boyfriend jailed for burgling pal’s house while high on drink and drugs
James Morgan briefly appeared on Geordie Shore alongside Vicky when they dated
VICKY Pattison's ex-boyfriend is starting a two year prison sentence after pleading guilty to burgling a pals home and making off with £30,000 worth of stolen designer goods.
James Morgan, 34, confessed to staging the daylight robbery at his friend's home in Lincolnshire.
Prosecutor Phil Howes said: "Morgan was one of two offenders.
"The burglary was carried out whilst the defendant was under the influence of drink and drugs.
"James Bushell returned to find he had been the victim of a burglary.
"The intruders had forced entry through the conservatory door.
"A glass panel was smashed.
"There was an untidy search and trashing of the property.
"He went through his property to find a substantial amount was missing including 30 pairs of designer sunglasses, a safe, and designer watches.
"His passport and cash together with further watches were stolen one of which was a 21st birthday present."
Morgan had previously had a small role in the MTV hit show Geordie Shore while he was dating 28-year-old Vicky.
Smitten Vicky even left the show in 2014 in order to be with him after he was banned from the set.
Reports say that the former professional ice hockey player threatened members of the production crew.
Luckily for her, their love wasn't meant to last and they split after six months.
Vicky returned to the Shore and when asked about the split, she mocked the line Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin used regarding their divorce and said that she "consciously uncoupled" from the athlete.
Morgan was tried in Lincoln Crown Court in March and plead guilty to the allegations, being sentenced on Friday to two years.
The court heard how Morgan had broken into a friend's house after being loaned money from him.
Morgan handed himself in to the police and confessed but has never identified his accomplice.
In the courtroom, David Bentley, defending, said that in the fifteen months since the burglary Morgan had matured and was running the family business due to his fathers ill health in a bid to lessen his sentence
Mr Bentley said: "He has had difficulty with alcohol and drugs in the past.
"He has been to rehab.
"He is a different man.
"He is terrified of going to prison.
"He is sorry for what he has done to his former friend.
"This was a terrible mistake."
Passing the two-year sentence, Judge Michael Heath said: "You knew the victim of the burglary.
"He had offered you a kindness by loaning you some money and you repaid that kindness by burgling his house when he was away.
"I am told you descended into a life typified by cocaine and alcohol consumption and I have heard of the attempts made to turn your life around.
"This is so serious that the only sentence I can justify for it is a custodial sentence."
